TG supports bold, italic, and monospace. These can be triggered by surrounding text with double-stars, single-stars, and backticks respectively.

TG messages using formatting should convert down to text characters for hub users.

Likewise, hub messages that reasonably appear to be using these characters to indicate formatting choices, should be converted to use formatted characters in TG (probably including the indicating characters for clarity)
